Alderford Lake Unveils Magical Ice Bar Experience for Christmas 2024

Alderford Lake is thrilled to announce its enchanting lineup of Christmas events

Guaranteed to create unforgettable memories for families and visitors of all ages. From the 21st of November to the 23rd of December, the lake will be transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring a brand new ice bar, the magical Santa Island Experience and a stunning real undercover ice rink.

New for 2024- Brand New Ice Bar 

Opening on the 21st November, Alderford’s Ice Bar is set to be the coolest spot in town. Handcrafted entirely from ice, the bar promises an enchanting experience, where guests can sip on a signature warming  Christmas cocktail or delicious hot chocolate , while surrounded by stunning ice sculptures, twinkling lights and immersive festive décor. 

The Alderford Ice Bar will be open from 21st November through to 5th January . Guests are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment, as this highly anticipated event is expected to sell out quickly. Tickets from £10 per person.

The Ice Bar joins a host of Alderford Lake's beloved Christmas attractions, including the famous Santa Island Experience, and real ice rink.  Whether you're visiting for an evening of festive fun or as part of a day out enjoying the lake's winter activities, the Ice Bar is the perfect place to relax and revel in the festivities.

Santa Island Experience: A Magical Adventure

Starting on the 21st of November, visitors are invited to embark on the Santa Island Experience, a unique and immersive journey across the lake to meet Santa and his elves.

This magical journey begins with an enchanting boat ride across Alderford Lake, where you will be transported to Santa’s Island, the home of Santa Claus and his bustling team of elves.

As you step onto the island, the elves will welcome you with their all-time favourite treat—a deliciously gooey s’more—to enjoy while you listen to the heartwarming story of their adventures in the North Pole. Next, you’ll follow the Wishing Elf across the twinkling Wishing Bridge, where you can make a special Christmas wish that will be carried away by the enchanted stream below.

But the magic doesn’t end there! Join the elves in their toy workshop and lend a hand in making toys for children around the world. This hands-on experience is perfect for children who want to see the behind-the-scenes magic of Santa’s workshop. After your hard work, you’ll be treated to a steaming cup of hot chocolate from the Elf Bar—parents can enjoy a festive tipple as well.

Your journey concludes with a visit to Santa’s Grotto, where Santa himself will be waiting to hear your Christmas wishes. It’s a truly magical experience that captures the wonder and joy of the holiday season.

Real Undercover Ice Rink: Skating Under the Stars

Adding to the festive cheer, Alderford Lake will feature a real undercover ice rink, open from the 21st of November to the 5th of January.  Whether you're an experienced skater or a beginner, this rink offers a perfect opportunity to glide across the ice, surrounded by twinkling lights and the serene beauty of the lake. The rink is covered, ensuring that all can enjoy this classic winter activity, regardless of the weather.

Meet Hector and Henry: Alderford’s very own reindeer!

Visitors are invited to come and meet Hector and Hector- Alderford’s very own reindeer! They bring a magical touch to Alderford Lake’s festive events, providing an unforgettable experience for families, children and all animal lovers. Meeting Hector and Henry is included in the ticket for all our Christmas activities.
