The story airs this week as he undertakes BBC Radio 2’s Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge for BBC Children in Need

Paddy McGuinness takes a seat in the iconic yellow CBeebies Bedtime Story chair to read The Stompysaurus by Rachel Bright and Chris Chatterton, a reassuring tale about coping with overwhelming feelings and frustration.

One morning, Stompysaurus wakes from a happy dream, feeling excited for the new day, until things start to go a bit wrong. With nothing going quite right, he finds his stomps and his roars start rising inside him, until they explode! Can Stompysaurus find a new way of looking at things and turn his day around?

Paddy’s CBeebies Bedtime Story airs this week as he undertakes BBC Radio 2’s Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge for BBC Children in Need.

On Monday 11 November, Paddy set off from the start line in Wrexham, Wales and is cycling 300 miles through Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria, Dumfriesshire and Lanarkshire, finishing on Friday morning in Glasgow where Zoe Ball will be broadcasting The Radio 2 Breakfast Show as she welcomes Paddy across the finish line.

Paddy will be calling into Radio 2 shows with regular updates throughout each day this week as the presenters, their listeners and special guests help keep him motivated as he endures long miles up and down hills, through villages and towns, and whatever weather this week in November throws at him… all the while on two wheels!

“What an honour to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, it’s magical to share a story together. I hope little ones enjoy snuggling up with their grown-ups and watching it together. The book I’m reading, The Stompysaurus, is  all about trying to slow down and relax when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Though for me, it’s going to be more about channelling my energy as I take on Radio 2’s huge cycling challenge for BBC Children in Need!”

Paddy has a weekly show on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, every Sunday from 11am-1pm.

Paddy McGuinness’ CBeebies Bedtime Story will air at 6.50pm on Friday 15 November, CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.
