Childrens use of technology is something parents sometimes under estimate. A few wrong words entered in a browser or a video playlist that changes to a more adult theme is always not far away with unrestricted access. The spec is ok with a quality screen, speakers, quad core processor, 2gb and a 32gb internal storage upgradable to 256gb via a micro sd card slot. You can now quickly ensure that your child is in a safe I.T. environment without too much hasle. However remember that even 2gb of ram for a modern tablet in my opinion is entry level and the 32gb of storage wont last too long. A cheap 32gb micro sd card should help keep it chuging along nicely but remember at this price it's not ipad killer.

It's main core purpose is to eat up amazons kids content and it certainly does it with ease, this is the more powerful model so expect less performance from the lower spec smaller model's.

The content it's self is most aimed for 2 to 8 years old and after this age it starts to thin out. This may change as time goes by and amazon improves / increases the content available. The parental controls are good and keep you informed of whats been viewed whilst you were away, it also helps you intereact and discuss interests with your children.

The 2 year no quible replacement is really great and gives you all round peace of mind with this device. Although it has a ruged case, it only takes a stone or table corner in the right place, a puddle or drink and it's game over. Well not according to amazon who will send you a replacement should the unexpected happen

As far as value goes the 8 inch comes in ever so slightly better, however the extra 1/2 gig of ram, larger screen and faster processor give the 10 the reason to stretch if you can.

It is certainly a child safe place to view amazon content for children with a worry free warranty.
