EDIFIER G2 II

We decided to review the pink EDIFIER G2 II headphones as we have a growing gamer girl and we'd seen so many headsets that were not girly girl headphones. These USB 7.1 Virtual surround kiticat edition headphones come in at a very reasonable price.

Out the box they come with stick on ears and some extra self-adhesive pads, a separate lock in microphone, an inline control box, RGB illumination, 7.1 virtual surround sound and its own dedicated software. Some other kitty ear headset come with clips making it easier to install and remove the ears, the sticky pads meant it was a little tricky to line them up correctly but given the price tag this wasn't the end of the world.

The microphone clicked in easily however the microphone sponge cover also took some getting on.

The headset was comfortable, has a reasonable head pad and nice soft ear pads. The ear pieces are not articulated but the head strap had good adjustment from small to large, once on the headset stayed in place and did not fall off when moving or looking around.

The sound quality is good for the price and the 50mm driver units are pretty loud on full volume, the base wasn't the loudest I’ve heard but the overall range and balance for the price was superb.

The microphone for the price was the headsets golden apple, it really was impressive for this price range and performed really well. In the software you also had a feature to monitor yourself which was great considering the price.

I was unsure how well the 7.1 virtual surround would work, but during my gaming I was pleasantly surprised how it worked and made me feel in the game action.

Overall for the price of these headphone and the quality I was really pleased. They also come in other colours so the less pink brigade can enjoy these too.
