TechnologyOur Verdict
The Evoluent vertical mouse looks a bit odd at first glance compared to what you’re used to, I was very unsure even how I would use it at all. Taking it out the box and holding it for the first time felt odd yet comfortable, once I'd installed the drivers and started moving around the screen I was amazed how quickly I got used to using this mouse and how comfortable it was. The button usage itself took a little extra time to find my feet, the software for the device is available straight from the manufacturer’s website and is actually very good. With that installed you can program 10 button actions, activate smart scroll, activate horizontal scrolling, control screen brightness and some extra click options making the mouse version customisable.
There are three main buttons, scroll wheel, mouse speed button, two thumb buttons and a mouse speed light indicator. The mouse is laser sensor, so the accuracy is great and the speed settings can be adjusted on the mouse and via windows settings with great detail to get it just right. It even works well with gaming and can be tilted mid movement and repositioned on the mouse matt with ease. Even the kids loved this mouse, they found the differences both interesting, fun and easy to pick up.
Overall
This mouse is comfortable, easy to pick up and use, accurate, come in three different sizes, a left hand version is available, customisable and beautifully different.
